خلاصه : The family is one of the most important basis of human life, which its importance in human upbringing and meeting their most basic physical and mental needs has been accepted beyond doubt. In today society, which momentarily comes with a new introduction to the realm of human life, this seemingly private realm has been challenged. Part of this challenges are effected by the presence of the media, which have important role in the private and public spheres of family life, and has come up with questions about family change. Considering this, the impact of media consumption (internal TV, satellite and Internet) on family health has been studied. Considering the lack of a clear theoretical foundation for family health, based on the systemic perspective in family study, various dimensions have been put together to comprehensively understand this concept. These dimensions include structural, functional, relational, process, and social dimension in conceptual formulation of family health, which is a combination of structural, functional, symbolic interaction, phenomenological, conflict, life cycle, and social health theories. In an explanatory discussion of the research, based on the ecological approach, which considers any study considering the interactions of the environmental components, other independent variables are also included in the study of the effect of media consumption on family health. These variables include family networking, health of the family of orientation, cultural capital, the kind of religiosity and the mediatization of everyday life. In this research, 530 Muslim families residing in Tehran (including father, mother and at least one child) were studied through a survey method and questionnaire technique. The research was carried out with a two-stage probabilistic sampling design based on sampling probability proportional sampling (PPS) and simple random sampling. In analyzing the data of this research, univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis techniques have been used. In this research, the main hypothesis about the relationship between family health and media consumption is confirmed, and this relationship is negative. Of course, this relationship is proportional to the type of media. The amount of internal TV consumption has no meaningful relationship with family health. The amount of satellite and internet usage has reduced the family health, which in both cases is most evident in the health communication aspect. The amount of Internet and satellite consumption, in addition to direct impact, also have negative effects on the health of the family through the mediatization of everyday life. The direct relationship with other independent variables has also been confirmed. Among these variables, the health of family of orientation has indirect relationship with family health through the media consumption. The assumption of the relationship between other independent variables and family health through the media is rejected
